Re: My monitor displays "No Signal Detected" minutes...
Hi Geoffrey,
The Issue is that the Serial Slot at the back of the CPU Tower has gone bad,you need to change the Serial Slot in your CPU and then Check it

Can you observe any LED lights on the monitor panel when you try to turn it on. If no then check your power cables. If you can see the LED lights but screen does not show try to unplug the VGA/HDMI cable and clean it by blowing air through the plug and then reconnect it. Also try to turn on the monitor without connecting it to the monitor as this will verify if the monitor is OK because if it is it should display a message to check the input signal or no input signal is detected. If it does and you are still not having a display then the problem is probably in your CPU and more specifically in the VGA card.
By 'open', do you mean the housing had been taken off? If so, and it worked beforehand and you did nothing to stop it from working... and the computer works with a different display... then I would guess that either static electricity got it or MAYBE part of the housing was being used as a heat shield for the power supply and something has over-heated.
Check signal cable means that your monitor wire is not connected properly. So remove your cable connect it tightly once again. Tightly connect with cpu and power supply. Thanks for using fixya
please check if the display cable is properly placed, the reason it says no signal because there is no signal been detected to from your cpu, if the cable is properly placed pleased try to clean you video card.
1. bad monitor cable 2. bad video card 3 bad monitor
solution: bu the cable first its the least expensive, if that doesn't solve it get a new video card, if that isnt it save up for new monitor remember to save your receipts so u can return the stuff that doesn't resolve your problem.
yes please take the power on self test means disconnect signal cable and monitor will give
display without cpu if display appears then monitor ok fault is in cpu if not then fault is in monitor move signal cable and look display changes or not if changes then cable faulty replace it
Please try connecting monitor to known working CPU and determine if problem is with CPU (Graphics card etc) or monitor.Signal cable can also be a problem.
Please rate solution and provide feedback.
