Personally I use AVG which can be downloaded from free.grisoft.com (if the link didn't already give it away, AVG is free)
if you have a virus on any drive, the first thing you should do is scan it for viruses using your antivirus program to attempt to get rid of any viruses. If you do not have an antivirus program installed, you should install one right away. I recommend Avast Antivirus. it has a free version, and a paid version.
It appears a virus may be on ur PC taking away profomance away try rebooting in safe mode and install an antivirus to remove the virus however I recommend not to use McAfee it doesn't do well I would prefer Norton or avg free then check over once more with malwarebytes
Go to MS Security Essentials and install the free anti virus. Then update and run full scan. Housecall also has free scan and removal, but stay away from those free softwares. Many just identify and don't clean unless you buy,

I assume you are looking for a good free anti-virus? If so, you might try AVG free. I love Online Armor for a great firewall, and AVG for anti-virus if you don't have Online Armor paid version so you can use the anti-virus part. As long as I've had both of those, I've never had a virus. I do get trojans in a download sometimes, but they catch it right away. MSCONFIG allows you to stop programs from starting up when you boot up your computer to windows. This is good cause it will allow your computer to run quicker and more efficient cause less memory will be used. Virus protection is important cause it protects your files and Operating System from corrupting on you due to infections from spyware, malware, trojans, viruses, etc. A good free one if you don't have Mcafee or Norton is AVG and its free on the internet from: free.avg.com
