Hi,
The lights on the front of the HP product can be on, off, or blinking (flashing), depending on the status of the product. The lights indicate product status and are useful for diagnosing printing problems.
For more read... HP Support document and HP Tech Support .
Please take a good look at the front of your printer and make sure that the only thing blinking is the exclamation point. If it is then it means that the cover to your printer is not closed all the way. Try opening and closing the printer to cancel this error.
If there is a picture of a sun, an ink droplet or anything else along with the blinking exclamation point then the error can mean different things.
Do you have a new toner cartridge loaded? The red/orange light will blink when toner is low, even if everything else is working fine. Try printing out a test sheet and see what that tells you about your toner level. (Test sheep prints by holding the orange button down a second or two and releasing.)
Since I'm mainly printing drafts for my own use, I've just let the light blink while I eke out whatever I can from the remaining toner (occassionally removing the cartridge and shaking it -- being careful of clothes and surroundings -- to re-distribute the toner on the inside.
Don't worry, Please press the Exclamation point, which is telling you some error has occurred while printing or scanning, once you will press the exclamation button that would stop blinking and try to print again, please let me know it works or not
Since your question is listed as a 1999 Saturn SL and a Toyota 4Runner, I will answer both:
1999 Saturn SL Typically the orange exclamation point dash warning light is indicating a problem with your brakes, parking or hand brake. Check to ensure that your emergency brake is completely disengaged.
Check to ensure proper brake fluid level.
Otherwise this could be indicating a problem with the ABS system.
04 Toyota 4Runner
Low tire air pressure. Inflate to approximately 32 PSI should correct your problem.
Try turning your printer off, wait for 10 seconds, then turn it on again. If nothing changes, I think you should check your cartridges. Remove them from your printer and gently wipe the contacts with a dry cloth, then put them back in. If that doesn't help either, one of the cartridges might be dead. The symptoms you described point pretty much to that conclusion. Try taking out one of the cartridges and see if the paper sign is still blinking. Do the same with the other cartridge. The one that prints is fine, the other one should be replaced and that should fix your problem. I hope my comment was useful!
remove the toner cartridge close the door then remove the power cable without switching off the unit
wait 10 seconds plug power cord back in make sure unit powers up and firmly insert the toner cartridge
Try going to the Dell site and searching for that printer model. Then see if you need to have both ink cartridges populated and filled with ink, to make it work.
You might also clean the contacts on the ink cartridges, to make sure the printer knows you have both cartridges in the printer, even though they're not both filled with ink.
It just might require both to be filled, before it will print for you.
