Yes, I've had the remote going on 3 years now. Have not touched it (setting and firmware wise) in a year.

    1. Have you programmed the remote?
    2. Did it work before?
    3. Did you make any changes to the settings which caused it to sotp working?

First I would remove the battery for 10 min then replace. If that did not help, I would hook the harmony back up to your computer and update the remote. If that does not fix the problem then I would down load the firmware and then update your remote. Even if your current firmware is up to I would still download and update the firmware.
Hope this helps.

If you have updated the remote with new firmware and program and the unit is still not working then your unit has likely failed at the circuit board level and is time to purchase a new remote. With nothing to lose at this point, and as a last resort, I would pull the unit apart and look for any contamination on the circuit board. You know coffee, soda, a hamburger...etc. In general you can use alcohol to clean electronics. One other helpful tip is to check and see if the IR led is working. You can use this trick with any IR remote. Using a digital camera point the remote at the camera and press a button one the remote. If the IR led is working then you should see it glow. One last thing, calling customer service at Harmony might get you 50% off your next purchase. I have had one customer who’s remote was out of warranty, and they offered 50% off list price. Good luck I, and I sure hope this helped.

Harmony 550 quit responding as I watched a blu-ray movie.

Hi. The 'Welcome to Your Remote' messageon a H550 means that there is a button that is stuck down on the remote.

1. Take out the battery, and push in and massage each button to ensure it is not stuck down.

2. Put the battery back in, update the firmware. To do this, log in to the software, click 'Downloads' at the top and 'Firmware'

3. Update the remote.

That should get the remote working! :)

My remote for the harmony 550 says welcome to remote even after I replaced old batteries with brand new batteries. No buttons will work any suggestions?

First I would check to see if any of your buttons are sticking. I have found that this is a common problem with the 550 remote. I really like this remote but if nothing works check your buttons to see if any are pressed under the plastic. This remote can only work one button at a time so if one is being pressed it will not work.

Harmony 550 is locked on safe mode

Try this:

  1. Remove the batteries from your remote
  2. Press and hold down the 2 button while connecting the remote to your computer
  3. The Harmony Remote LCD screen should display Upgrade Success
That should do it. If it doesn't work try pressing all the keys and make sure none are stuck in the down position and then retry the above steps.

My logitech 550 remotes buttons will not work

Did you try updating the remote through the desktop software? Something might be wrong with the firmware that an update could fix.

The # 5 button needs to be pressed hard to respond All the rest are fine. It seems to have worn out.

you have solved your own problem! The # 5 button is worn out and that is quite common in all remotes. (not just the # 5 but any button or buttons)
