Computer says that the cartridges are in the wrong slots- which they are not. I have tried switching off and on -no effect, same message.Error 1102 The only thing that is different than usul is that I...

Turn the printer off.
Disconnect the AC power cable from the wall-outlet, to make sure that is "100%-OFF".
Reconnect it.
Remove that #33 cartridge.
Does that get rid of the "wrong" message?
Reinsert that #33 cartridge.
Does that message still appear?
Have you returned the "defective" #33 cartridge to where you bought it, and gotten a replacement for it, and installed that replacement cartridge?

I have a dell printer with a error code 1102...how do I solve this?

error code 1102
Hi there
Your error message is coming from the Dell Series 5 ink Cartridge. To reset the error message, unplug the printer from the wall. Now remove the power brick from the back of the printer. Wait 60 seconds and then plug everything back in. This usually resets any error messages on the printer. Make sure the Dell Series 5 ink cartridges are intalled correctly by removing them and re-seating them .
Black in left or black side, color in right side or color side

If using a photo cartridge...

Photo cartridge in the black side(left) and color in the color side(right)
Dell Series 5 ink cartridges have a sensor in them that cannot be reset

It is also possible to get a new ink cartridge with a bad sensor. Please take it to the place of purchase for a refund or a replacement one.
Please all I ask is call back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one, so I will keep on helping.

Dell 944 error message 1102 after fitting new DellBlack Cartridge

hi there,

you can try these steps:

try to remove the new black cartridge. get a clean cloth. gently wipe the copper strip of the cartridge. unplug the power cable of the printer. gently wipe the contacts of the black cartridge carrier (where you put the black cartridge in). close the carrier, plug the power cable back in. install the black cartridge. then check for the error code.
if you still have same error code, try the old cartridge.
if the old cartridge still works, you need to contact dell for the replacement of the black cartridge (if you purchase the black cartridge from dell)
if the old cartridge is also giving same error. try the steps on the color cartridge as well, it might be with the color cartridge error.
or both.
worst case scenario the contacts on the printer carrier might be broken already.
but in this kind of situation. 98% it's the cartridge that's causing the issue.

have a great day :)

Inputting new ink cartridges

Error 1102 means cart error. Try cleaning the copper contacts on the cart and the contacts in the printer also. If still fails, then put old carts and check if u still get same error. If u dont get the error then there is a problem with the cart itself. But if you have bought a refilled cart then the print heads on the carts are bad. Needs replacement.
