I had the exact same problem. Camera turned on but turned off soon after, with lens still outside. I noticed the lens was crooked as if it was stuck. I pulled it out and I heard it click into place, for a second I thought I had broken it. I then turned it on and everything was working again ! Whew ! Problem Solved :D Good luck!!

Samsung digimax d53 beeps then shuts off with lens stuck out

The camera lens is jammed, caused by dirt or worn out gears. a camera technician would be solution but not cheap, or you can take matters in your own hands and try a risky trick "NOT RECOMMENDED" take the palm of your hand and sharply hit it around the lens housing and applying power as you do so in an effort to get lens to retract, if you are lucky it will work or make things worse.

I HAVE A DIGIMAX D53 AND WHEN I TURN IT ON THE MONITOR HAS A DULL LIGHT BUT FADES AND BEEPS 3 TIMES. i DO NOT GET A A MENU OR PICTURE WHEN I HAVE A MEMORY CARD INSERTED.

Does it turn off immediately after the it beeped? Are you using a rechargeable battery? Have you tried fully charging the it? You should also try fresh set of batteries and see if it will resolve your problem.

Samsung Digimax D53 will not stay on

This is most likely a lens failure. Try contacting your manufacture if your camera is still under warranty. If not, try contacting your local electronic repair shop to get it fixed. Hope this helps!

When turning on my camera the stays on for only a

Hi there,

2 possible problems..

This is due to one of two problems:

First and easiest: the batteries are dead. Im sure you know how to fix that problem.

Second: your lens is jammed. The camera tries to turn on and extend the lens but since it is stuck, can't do so and gives up, beeps, and shuts off.

To fix this problem, send it into a repair shop. it shouldn't cost that much.

I hope that helped.

Samsung Digimax D53 Camera says low battery but just replaced with brand new ones. Camera beeps and shuts down immediately.

For digital cameras you should use either Rechargeable(whith high Ampere) or high performance alkaline batteries (ie. Lithium Duracel or Enegizer) normal alkaline batteries will not be able to charge the Flash. If you are useing high performance batteries then it is sadly your camera which is faulty. repairing it you could but it is cheaper to get a new camera.

Good luck!

Mine did the same thing. Just let it sit for a couple of days. Don't mess with it. It'll eventually stop doing that and work. That's what i did. It worked for mine.

Beeping

The beeping is as a result of low power. I found several articles on-line about this, and you are not alone. The best solution I saw was to use NiMH Rechargable batteries. They say it takes the life from 30 shots, to 30 days worth of shots if you get the correct rechargable AA Batteries.

If it is not power, then I am sorry, but I am of no help.

Many people complain about the life of batteries, and this beeping though, best to try it, and see.
