Copier stopped working - has ADF jam message

In the middle of copying a page off the glass, the copier broke down and now has a continuous ADF jam message. i have tried turning it off, unpluggin power and unplugging scanner and plugging all back in to no avail. copier will not work and message will not clear even though it says press start to clear.

i can still print from my computer, just no copies or scans.

Have cleared paper, reset paper, powered off and on. Message still wont clear. Taken flashlight and cannot find even a tiny piece of paper. Copier is locked into paper jam message with red blinking light.

We had the same problem, the machine had an ADF alarm,we turned it off and on but no good, we also tried to Unjam any paper and rollers but no good.

We then turned off the machine, and unplugeed the mains power and then unplugged the top cable, plugeed both back in and turned on the power.

And now the machine is working perfectly.

As mentioned in the other thread concerning this problem, the board seems not the problem.
I had the same problem and found out, that the cable connecting ADF and "main machine" was the problem. In this cable are 10 wires, one of them - in my case the violet one - was broken.
I used a new wire and soldered it in between, now it works fine.
I think - as this very short cable is only plugged on both sides (ADF side under the cover) - you should check this first. Spare - part should be much cheaper.

An other soultion can be, that the sensor - hook slid out of his mount.

Hope this helps

PIXMA MX330 Error message "Document in

Hello,
The sensor may be dirty even if it looks like there is no paper jam. Take a bottle of compressed air and give it a once over. Make sure you don't shake or tip the compressed air as you don't want to fast freeze anything.
If this does nothing, you probably have a failed sensor which will need replacing.

Does canon pixma mx 310 work faxing page up or page down?

When using the ADF load the document with the side you want to copy, fax or scan facing UP in the ADF.

When using the platen glass load the document with the side to be copied, faxed or scanned facing DOWN on the platen glass.

Everytime I fax something on my HP Laserjet 3050, the recipient receives the document with a line going down the middle of the page. How do I get rid of the line?

The way this ADF works is that there is a stationary scanner head and the machine moves the paper over it. The line down the pages is due to debris stuck between the page and the scanner. The ADF panel should open to show you the glass that needs cleaning. See the link below for full instruction. You should be able to test this by making a copy.
