Wireless sysem on Acer 1644WLMi

I have an acer aspire 5742(core i3) , HP DV6(core i5) and dell inspiron 4050s
This also happens on my dell and acer laptop but never on HP ...
Its just a little problem .... nothing to worry about ... i had it searched over the internet ... it is normal for laptops to behave like this ...

It might be your battery. Same thing happened with me, and when i got it replaced it was all good. so check the battery.

I would try:
1. updating driver
2. try connecting via Ethernet, if the issue is only wireless connectivity, try using a USB wireless network adapter, if that works means your lappy has a bad built in network adapter.
3. Are you locating laptop too far from router?

Troubleshooting steps:
Go to Support.dell.com and update the following:

1. BIOS
2. Notebook System Software
3. Wireless driver

See if that helps
other steps:

1. Reset BIOS defaults (It is amazing what that can fix)
2. Reseat the wireless card
3. Reseat the wireless antenna cables
4. Ensure that if you are using Dell Control Point connection manager that the system is not in Airplane mode

There are no Vista and Windows 7 drivers available for this model

No , You must have the drivers of Acer or the hard disk driver software to be put into the laptop to work.
If not try to search for one in the web for free downloads.

Have you had a look on the firewall website for a suitable firewall system that compliments windows 7?
I had to download a new one myself when I went from Windows XP to Windows Vista.

Sometimes changing systems means you should also change your firewall, then you'll have the most up-to-date software going. Plus it won't slow your computer down like it doesn't sometimes.

I would check Services to see if some like WLAN Autoconfig is set to something other than Automatic and is changing with Demand. Try setting anything to do with networking to Automatic if it already isn't.

well it would be great , if you can check the same on the wired connection. I guess the problem is with the windows . Start the computer in safe mode with networking and check browsing on the wireless connection in safe mode with networking . if the same works fine . Try creating a new user a/c if the same works fine in safe mode with networking . Other wise it would be best to reset the entire computer.

You may try a clean reinstall of WinXP - after that you will see if problem persists - i think is ???the processor burried. I have experienced somethink like this
