No controls I have the LCD 50" tv. None of the buttons on the front of the tv work. The only button that works is the power button. The remote doesn't even work. I have the original remote which I have been using and also I programmed my cable remote to the tv and both have been working fine. 1 day they just stopped working. I have a little girl so I'm hoping she didn't lock it somehow. I have no idea what's wrong. Picture and sound are awesome, i just can't change the volume, channel, etc....

This should be easy to fix. The first thing is to check the buttons. Make sure that the buttons ar not pushed in and they work. What I meen is that when you push a button make sure it makes a cliking noise when you push it and releas it. If it dose not that is your problem. If they all work, Unplug the tv for 30 min. then plug it back in. It should work after that. If the remote dose not work after unplugging the set, you may have internal problems

How to shut off manually

UN55D6400UF TV Will Not Power Off If your TV is on but will not power off when you press the power button, you could be having an issue with your remote control or a faulty circuit inside your TV.
To determine the source of your problem, follow these steps:
  1. Power the TV on if it is off.
  2. Unplug the TV from the wall outlet for 30 seconds, and then plug the TV back in.
  3. namo_fileview.jsp?type=nfs&pid=decisiontree&did=57355&cid=yokn68wxkhym@namo.co.kr&sep=%7c

      • If the TV powers off when you press the POWER button on the remote control turn the TV back on continue to Step 4.
      • If the TV does not powers off then there is a problem with the remote control. Click here to go to the Remote Control troubleshooting section of this guide.
    1. Press the POWER button on the TV.
      • If the TV powers off with the remote but does not power off with the power button on the TV there could be an issue with the touch sensor on the TV. Before setting your unit up for service try these two things.
        1. Try sliding your finger accross the power button.
        2. Have other people try using the touch buttons on the TV.
        3. If either of these two options work then there is not an issue with the touch sensor on the TV. There are many variable that can limit the conductivity of a persons fingers. The conductivity of your fingers might not be enough to easily control the touch sensor on the TV.
        4. If the TV does not power off when you press either the POWER button on the TV or on the remote control, then the TV will need to be serviced. Click the Create online service request button below to have the TV repaired.

I cant figure out how to put the tv on video 1

With the remote in TV mode, the input button on the remote should change the source (TV, AV1, etc. depending on the TV).

If the input button doesn't work, try a different code for your TV manufacturer. A code that controls the basic functions of the remote may not control the full set of functions of the TV. For some TVs, you can change the source from within the Menu. (It depends on the TV. I didn't notice if there was a Menu button that will open the TV menu on the RCA RCU600M.)

If none of the codes work, check if your TV has a Source or Input button on the unit. See if that button works.

If you have a different remote, please indicate the model.

I hope this helps.

Samsung 40 hd tv the vol will not come down from 100 percent . I try to turn the vol down and it will not turn down. what can I do. tks mike

I presume that the volume will not turn down from either the remote control or the volume buttons on the side of the tv. If the volume down button works on the side of the tv then the remote control is suspect to be faulty. If neither remote or tv volume buttons work then check whether the channel buttons work on the tv (not remote). If none of these work then check the input connection from the buttons /infra red reciver to the main pcb. This is a push on cable connector. As a point, also check that the volume up button on the tv is not stuck in, and feels the same as the other buttons when pressed.

Where is the eye for the remote on the TV????

Hi, remote sensor is located behind the front screen, if the remote doesn`t work as well (you didn`t say so I`m assuming it doesn`t) then you either have bad tact switches on the control board (the buttons on the front of the set) or the 5 volt line to the control board is missing, video-tek

What's NEC PF68S33 TV's remote control code for YAMAHA HTR-6130

I had similar problem when setting up the YAMAHA remote control for my NEC LCD TV. At the end I found I did not follow the YAMAHA manual properly. Did you hold down the DTV/CBL button, and AT THE SAME TIME press the AV POWER for 3+ seconds? You should be able to "REMOTE SETUP OK" displayed in the front panel of the YAMAHA AV receiver. Hope this helps. BTW, only the TV POWER, TV MUTE and the numeric buttons work in my case.
