I use them and most of the factory phone sounds seem to be mp3 too. Not all mp3 files seem to work though, I've had to try several - could be worth using a sound editor like audacity to get the sound file details correct.

you can reset your phone setting to original
just save your number in simcard and save your important data then put any different simcard
and goto menu setting and phone setting then last option factory reset your phone will restart then try ring tons
for your added information, it is by chance that the 2 gb sd card can be recognize by your phone. normally, krzr 1 doesn't support 2 gb. you may think that others do have. it all depends on the firmware they have and sometimes on the brand of the sd card like micromax it is really by chance that it will be recognize. most of the time, it can be hardly recognize.
did the tones come pre installed on the phone? why dont you try using mp3 ring tones? download mp3 songs on your phone, then you can set them as ring tones. they work much beter than ordinary ring tones
