Camera says "RETRY POWER ON" when try to take a picture. Makes weird buzzing noises and screen goes black when turn on.

It sounds like a backlight or inverter problem. You can verify this by using a bright light to shine on the screen surface. If you can see the picture (but it will be very dark) that means that the backlight which illuminates the screen from behind. You would have to replace the inverter to test it, but there is good news: These are pretty difficult to find parts for, and not an easy repair for an amateur; acer products usually have a 3 year warranty on the backlight/inverter system, so I would start there.

Try these procedures.

This would need to be serviced something is wrong with the auto focus and this is inside the lens housing. I would take it into a camera shop and have the examin the autofocus.

the CRT is obviously very old and discontinued ,I would recomend investing in a new set

I had the same problem. I hit it a long time ago when it did it for the first time. It has been a year since then and it is doing it again. I tried the book solution again and it will not work. I tried holding the lens, no luck, and I tried applying pressure when the lens went back in, again, no luck. Honestly, I don't think I will buy another Olympus fe series camera again. The solutions provided do help the first few times your camera does it, but you might want to start checking the market for a new camera.

lens assembly has got knocked out of time . the noise is the gears slipping . needs lens assembly .

That is not a good thing, try and take it back where you Purchased it, the Memory might just need to be reset, and that should do it,but let the Dealer do it, just in case..
