1. Go to the "Control Panel" and double click on the "Mouse" item. 2.
Go through the tabs in the "Mouse Properties" window & find the tab
where you can set up your touchpad. This differs from laptop to another
since it is based on the touchpad's drivers. 3. On that tab, check & make sure that your touchpad is enabled. If it is not, then change the setting to enabled. 4. Click "Apply" to apply the changes, then close the "Mouse Properties" window.
If
you cannot find a tab to set up your touchpad, then your touchpad
drivers might not be installed. In this case, you will need to install
them first.
I get it. The multimedia keys above the keyboard is not working. If I'm right, check if you have installed the HP Quick Launch buttons software. If not check in C:/SwSetup and you'll find a folder. Install the application and check if the buttons are working. If not, post back
If Fn+F7 did not work, I would suggest that you plug in a USB mouse and then go to the Control Panel.
From there, you may want to check the Printers and Other Hardware section and then click on the section called Mouse.
If there is an option to enable the touchpad, I would suggest that you check that it is enabled.
If that doesn't work, you may want to try restarting your computer and if that still doesn't work, perhaps you should try doing a System Restore to a time when it did work.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it. Thanks, Joe
Hi!
I resently had the same problem on my HP laptop and search Google for possible solutions. No solution works until I tried Windovs Update and then got 5 alternatives - Synaptics PS/2 port TouchPad was one of them. I update and restart and finally solve this problem.
