Emachines wireless not working

Try looking in the program list for the program that starts the wireless. Click Start/Programs and look for the program that drives the wireless and open it.

Maybe you don't have your wireless turned on. Look on both sides and in front for the Wireless Switch and turn it on.

Also once the wireless switch is turned on there are keystrokes that can toggle the wireless on or off. Normally you would Press and Hold the FN function key located at the lower left of the keyboard, then hit the correct F1 thru F12 key that toggles the wireless. The correct F1 thru F12 key to hit will have the wireless signal icon )))) on it. Or it might have the icon of a tower with the wireless signal icon )))). Normally the screen will display Wireless On or Wireless Off when you toggle the wireless.

Turn on wireless

There might be a wireless switch located on either side of the laptop or at the front of the laptop. If so flip the switch. Also there might be a combination of keystrokes that toggles the wireless on and off. Normally you would have to hit the FN Function key + another key (F1 thru F12) to toggle the wireless. The correct F1 thru F12 key will probably have the wireless icon )))) on it. Press and Hold the FN key then hit the correct F1 thru F12 key that controls the wireless. When you do it your lcd screen might show Wireless On or Wireless Off as you press the keys.

My Wi-Fi on Lenova Think Pad T60 is not working. I tried to update the drivers. Still not working.

What is it doing? Still not working could mean a lot of things!!! Is the computer connected to the wireless network? You've got to connect to the network before you can do anything. And most times the problem with connecting to the network is people key the network key or password wrong so the wireless just keeps on polling trying to connect.

Do you have the wireless turned on on the notepad? Sometimes there might be a wireless switch somewhere that you have to turn on. Also most times you can toggle the wireless On and Off by hitting the FN Function key and the corresponding F1 thru F12 key that toggles the wireless. Most times the correct F1 thru F12 key will have a wireless icon signal on it sorta like ))))) or it may show a tower with the signals. Once you find the correct F1 thru F12 key to press then Press and Hold the FN Function key then hit the correct F1 thru F12 key. If you look at your screen most times it will let you know if you've toggled the wireless by displaying Wireless On or Wireless Off.

How do I use the F9, F10, F11 and F12 keys?

Some Gateway (desktop) computers do not have the dedicated F9, F10, F11 and F12 keys, but for a Gateway laptop, those four keys have dual functions for media control (which is the default use) or as Function keys. However, to use F-9 through F12 as Function keys, you must first press the Fn Key and then press the desired F-key. The Fn key is the second key to the right of the spacebar. To launch the Gateway Recovery process during start-up, you must press Alt+Fn+F10.

I need to know what the keys f1-f12 keys usage.

The uses for the function (f1-f12) keys varies based on which program you have open at the time. Different programs use them for different things.

However, your computer also has some default uses for these keys when combined with pressing the fn (function) key.

fn + f1 locks computer

fn + f2 changes our power use profile

fn + f3 puts the computer to sleep

fn + f4 puts the computer into hibernation mode

fn + f5 changes the display/output mode

fn + f6 decreases the screen brightness

fn + f7 increases the screen brightness

fn + f8 enables/disables wireless connections

fn + f9 enables/disables the touch pad

fn + f10 turns the cursor overlay on/off

fn + f11 turns the numeric overlay on/off

fn + f12 turns scroll lock on/off

I need an explanation as to the secondary function of the keys on my NB305. Mainly the top row of 'F' keys, but the remainder of the keyboard as well. What do all these little symbols on the keys mean?

F1 through F12 are called function keys because they execute programmed functions when pressed. Used in combination with the Fn key, keys marked with icons execute specific functions on the computer. The function executed by individual keys depends on the software you are using.

1. Sound Mute: Pressing Fn + ESC in a windows environment turns sound on or off. Press Fn + Enter to simulate Enter or the enhanced keyboard's numeric keypad. 2. Instant security: Press Fn + F1 to blank the screen to prevent others from accessing your data. To restore the screen and original setting, press any key or press the Touch Pad. 3. Power save mode: Pressing Fn + F2 changes the power save mode. 4. Standby: When you press Fn + F3, the computer enters Standby. 5. Hibernation: When you press Fn + F4, the computer enters Hibernation. 6. Display selection: Press Fn + F5 to change the active display device. Hold down Fn and press F5 again to change the device. 7. Internal LCD screen Brightness: Pressing Fn + F6 decreases the display brightness in decrements. 8. Internal LCD screen Brightness: Pressing Fn + F7 increases the display brightness in increments. 9. Wireless setting: If your computer has both Bluetooth and Wireless LAN functions, you can press Fn + F8 to select which type of wireless communication you want to use. 10. Touch Pad: Pressing Fn + F9 in a windows environment enables or disables the Touch Pad function. 11. Press Fn + F10 or Fn + F11 to access the integrated keypad. When activated, the keys with gray markings on the bottom edge become numeric keypad keys (Fn + F11) or cursor control keys (Fn + F10). The power on default for both settings is off. Press Fn + F12 (ScrLock) to lock the cursor on a specific line. The power on default is off. 12. TOSHIBA Zooming Utility (reduce): To reduce the icon size on the desktop or the application window, press the 1 key while holding down the Fn key. (13. TOSHIBA Zooming Utility (enlarge): To enlarge the icon size on the desktop or the application window, press the 2 key while holding down the Fn key.

Acer aspire lost internet connection how do i connect

Look on the Function keys on the keyboard (the F1 through F12 keys) Do you see a wireless icon on one of the keys? If you do, then look for a Function (Fn) key on the keyboard. Press and hold Fn, while holding Fn, press the funtion key with the wireless icon (example: the wireless icon is on the F2 key; press and hold the Fn key, while holding the Fn key, press F2, release both keys).
