If it's asking for a code then someone phisically put it in there. The unit comes unlocked from the factory. the only way to unlock it now is to get whoever put the code in there to unlock it or give you the code.
LOOK FOR RESET BUTTON, OR UNPLUG THE LUG FROM THE POWER(12V) AND REPLUG IT, ...OR IF ANY CMOS BATTERY IS FOUND INSIDE, MOVE IT AND REPLACE IT...HOPE IT WORKS
No one can help except the manufacturer, I am amazed as to how many people "lost the code". You need to send it to Kenwood to ghet it unlocked or get ahold of the real owner before you to get the code. Every unit has a different code as they are set BY THE USER!
New CD players don't come with codes preloaded in them. It either was a return, or you bought it off of someone. You must get the REAL code and enter it properly. If code is unknown, then you have no choice but to end it to the manufacturer. Sorry.
Get the serial number from your head unit, contact Kenwood. they will have an unlock code for you. OR if you still have the manual for the head unit, check that as someone my have written it in there.
