I have a dell Vostro 3500 with a Kensington notebook expansion dock. How can I close the laptop but continue to work using a seperate monitor & keyboard?

Every DVI or VGA (with the provided adaptor) cable will work, just not both at the same time.

Go to the site below. Double check the model and then fill in your operating system type and other info. This will take you to the page that has all the drivers for your laptop. You should find the webcam driver there.

First, please check that if your Dell Vostro 1520 battery and laptop connection place is clean, please clean them and test if it will get better.Else, you can find something useful in this article's last post: battery can't be detected by laptop

Try going back to the previous version of the BIOS to see whether the problem continues. You can download older versions from the Dell website and install them over the existing version.

If this does resolve the issue, I would report the problem to Dell and as a precaution inspect the fan and the ventilation screens and ducts for debris and clean as required.
If you're good with a screw driver and the laptop is no longer under warranty, you might even consider taking the laptop apart to clean out any dust build-up from the ventilation ducts.

but may as you know that the anttena for wi fi in the laptops located in the side of monitor so it is polarization issue sure when you open the laptop screen it will be different when you close it to put it inside the docking station>>>to solve this you can change the direction of your router anttena

You can get a HP COMPAQ dock for your what ever model HP Compaq Presario laptop you have or you can also get a universal dock that will work as well. Kensington, Targus, etc.

i couldnt find one on the dell website but i think kensington makes some that hook up through usb. ive never used one or seen one. here is a link to one. this is the closest thing i could find
