In Playback, sudden pause and jump to another scene

Hi there. When I play back a finalized DVD-R, I see sudden pauses in the action and then a jump to a subsequent frame, almost like the camera gets amnesia for a fraction of a second. I see this whether I playback on my DVD-TV combo, or in the DC40 itself.

Is it something in the way I'm recording? Do I have to be smoother or slower when I pan a scene? I haven't seen this sort of problem reported anywhere.

Thanks very much for your answers.

HOW DO YOU BURN A DVD ON A SONY DVD RECORDER RDR

Make sure your Sony input signal is on L1 or L3 (the inputs in back of recorder) or on L2 which is for inputs for cameras(located in front).Once you get a signal, you're where you need to be. Choose your recording mode for recording speed (pull down the flap on the remote control for this button and also the input button).
Choose from between1 hour and six hours. To archive really important stuff, stick with the first 3 speeds. TV recording can be on 3, 4 or 6 hour mode.
Push the record/pause button once. This will put the recorder into the record/pause mode and then it awaits you pushing it again to start recording immediately. Just pushing record will force the machine into a 3 to five second delay before actually recording anything so you might mess up and miss the first few seconds of your input. Suggest you use a dvr-rw or dvd+rw to practice on.

When your recording is done, just push the pause again. It stops recording but allows you to add more on to the first recording without starting a new chapter if you want. Just continue to release the pause button to continue.
If you are satisfied that you are finished, then push the pause button to stop recording. Wait for the info to be written(flashing message on screen). When it stops, you may play the dvd.
Notice- since the dvd has not been FINALIZED, you may only play it back on this unit without finalizing. It will not play on other dvd players unless you finalize it first.
To finalize, look on remote for the TOOL button. Press it once. Now push DISC INFO once. Use arrow keys and enter button on remote for the following. Scroll down to FINALIZE and press enter.
Use arrow keys to scroll to OK. push the ENTER button. Finalizing should take between 30 seconds and 2 minutes.

Warning- if titles or chapters are to typed in, it must be done BEFORE finalizing. Finalizing afterwards cannot be done.
Erasing can be done in part or all if using an RW+ or RW- disc

Cannot link scenes together

there is no way you can link scenes together on your hdd handycam. one possible solution to this issue is to burn or write movies onto a dvd using the supplied software, then all movies you burned would have seemless playback.

Pause/video freeze between shots

If the disc is an RW disc with previously written data on it, you'll be asked to confirm whether or not it can be overwritten.after erasing pls use it and try it ,
if you are using fresh blanck Sony DVD-R disk, a Verbatim DVD-R disk and a Maxell DVD-RW disk (all 4.7GB single-sided). no proble but if there is maxell i cant say anything if ther is carry on this problem is not repairable bcoz One of the common problems with HDD recording systems is that they can sometimes (but not always) produce a slight pause at the end of a clip prior to the start of a new clip.
just keep it up.

LG LRA-750 goes to PAUSE during playback.

Hi Andy12345,

It sound like the LRA-750 processor board has developed a fault, it may be in its remote IR sensor circuit or the main micro-controller. If it's still under warranty I'd take it back the the store where you purchased it and get it exchanged. Some LG items have a warranty of up to 3 years, check yours on-line, at the LG website.

Freezes

I had the same problem - you are (as I was) turning off the camera too soon after you hit the stop button after recording a scene. Wait until the word "disc access" appears (about 5 seconds after you hit the stop button. This "marks" the end of the scene. I just don't know how to edit that scene out or if it will delete it out. I know after finalizing the disc that scene will pause for a while (10 to 20 seconds even) when you watch it through the DVD player to the TV.
