What version of windows do you have ? Most have a burner inbuilt these days - starting with XP
ImgBurn This is good software for creating bootable CDs http://www.imgburn.com/
And CDBurnerXP http://cdburnerxp.se/ is an excellent free application

A couple of good free burning programs are CDBurnerXP and InfraRecorder. DVDStyler is a good program if you want to try authoring DVDs to play back in regular DVD players. These programs are all free to download and use, full-function, not shareware or demo versions.
