SETTING A ROUTER AS A REPEATER1. Connect your computer to the repeater router's RJ45 portwith a LAN cable. 2. Open a browser, then enter the router's URLconfiguration's IP address, This is usually something similar to 192.168.0.13. Enter the configuration user name and password. Therouter will display the various router settings.4. Go to the page that changes the IP address of the router.Changed the IP address so that it is not the same as the main router on thenetwork, or any other network devices. If the main router on the network is setto 192.168.1.1 then the repeater router should use a higher number (ie. 10),such as 192.168.1.10 or higher, depending on how many devices are on yournetwork.5. Disable the repeater router's DHCP server. This settingshould be on the same page as the IP address, (this may be different dependingon the make of the router). When the main router is operating normally, thisserver assigns an IP address to every device that is connected to your network.Because this router is used as a repeater, the main router on your network willstill issue the IP addresses.6. Also turn off the DNS server, if it is activated. Thisfunction will be taken over by the main router.7. Disable any firewall settings on the repeater router. This is usually in the "Security" section, depending on the make and model ofyour router.8. Remove all in the "Port Forwarding" section. Some routersmay refer to this as "Applications and Gaming," and it allows less-restrictedaccess to the internet.9. Set the operating mode switch to "Gateway" or "Switch" ifapplicable. Also, if the repeater router is a wireless router then disable thewireless access or set it to access point only.10. Save the settings for each page, and reboot the router. When the router boots up, the changes will allow it to act as a simplerepeater. 11. Now, place the repeater router in a newlocation and connect both routers with a Ethernet cable in each
You can change password with below method.Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. If you are still not able to access router with above ip then you need to RESET it for that press RESET button for 10 seconds it is in back side of router then all settings defaults..Then you can access it with above method. . Just reset it! At the back of the router is a small hole. With a
toothpick or some like press gently for 30 seconds and wait for the
router to start up again.Log in to http://192.xxx.xxx and start a new
configuration.

see configuration tab - You will not be prompted to login the first time you connect to the Web User Interface during the initial setup. During the Setup Wizard procedure, you will be prompted to create a user name and password to log on to the router. If you create a user name and password, you will need to use these whenever you want to log on to the Wireless MAXg Router. The user name and password are case-sensitive. ------------- so if you cannot remember the username and password - you will need to reset to fsactory condition and reset all the settings in the router for it to work with your ISP again the reset button is on the back - RESET Button: To restore the factory default settings, use a paperclip to press in and hold the RESET button for five to ten seconds. If the RESET button is pressed for less than five seconds, the Wireless MAXg Router will reboot.
The default address for that make and model is:
http://192.168.2.1
If you changed the default address, you can perform a factory restore to reset the router.
To restore the factory default settings is to press in and hold the RESET button on the Wireless MAXg Router for between five and ten seconds. You will lose all of your personal settings if you restore the factory default settings.
Login to your router and check to see if wireless security is setup:
Use Internet Explorer and type 192.168.2.1 in the address bar.
Login using the password you created when you setup the router.
It appears you may have confused the world because of your IP addressing choices. Do you know what a subnet mask is? It determines which machines share the same network with other machines. Routers by design are the connection between different subnets, Most routers default to 255.255.255.0 for the subnet mask which means both of your routers are in the same subnet as they are 192.168.2.? meaning you have two separate networks sharing the same same subnet address when they should be unique. Try making the wireless router 192.168.3.3 or 192.168.3.1. This puts devices in your wireless network on the 192.168.3 subnet and the devices in the ADSL subnet in the 192.168.2 subnet which includes the WAN half of the wireless router. I believe this will correct your network issues. In this case if hardcoded the gateway for the wireless router would be 192.168.2.1 also known as the the adsl modem
