SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

SOURCE: SD card locked for Samsung SL202

Hi,

This used to happen occassionaly with my canon camers. Just use a peice of scotch tape or if you have one a small dab of hot glue to stop it from sliding.

Hope this helps FixYa,

Chris

SOURCE: how do I unlock my sd digital camera card

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. Slide it away from the contacts to lock, toward the contacts to unlock. If that doesn't do it, then try cleaning the contacts on both the card and the camera. If that doesn't do it, then there's something wrong with the switch sensor in the camera.

Aiptek Sd card compatible Problems

Some Aiptek cameras work with SD and SDHC cards, some work only with SD cards. If you have one of the latter, make sure your card is an SD card, not an SDHC card. The two card types are physically identical but electronically different.
If you need further assistance, please feel free to reply to this post. But be sure to specify the model of your Aiptek camera, as well as the type and size of your memory card.

How do i unlock my memory card?

I assume that your memory card is an SD type. These cards have a little switch on the card that can write protect or "lock" it. Take the card out of the camera and check this switch. To unlock it, it should be moved towards the edge of the card which has the electrical contacts.

Recently purchased an Aiptek IS-DV. It has

Your problem has a very simple fix. The camera which you have is not compatible with SDHC cards. It will only work with regular SD cards.

Your camera is incompatible with the later SDHC specification at the basic hardware level and so cannot format the card which you have purchased.

Note that SD cards are available up to and including 4GB and SDHC start at 4GB so you're not the only person to have made this mistake. In practice there are very few devices designed to use regular SD cards which will work correctly with 4GB SD; Aiptek only designed and tested the IS-DV up to 1GB SD capacity (see page 48 of the user manual), so this is the effective limit to the largest capacity memory card which you can use, if you try larger capacity cards they will either not work at all or will make the camera operations sluggish and you also risk damaging the card itself so that it will no longer correctly format. Aiptek never released any firmware updates to improve the SD compatibility on your camera.

I'm sorry not to be able to offer any way to use your current SDHC card but at least I may have prevented you making another purchasing mistake. Please return the favour by rating my answer.

Will not recognize 16 GB SDHC Card - Help Please

I had a literally terrifying experience with Aiptek customer service.

I called up Aiptek to ask if it was possible to get my memory cards working. I have two 4GB SDHC PNY cards, which th ekid at target reccomended after loking at the back of the box.

I was told by aiptek tech support that PNY cards will not work in the A-HD camera.

When I mentioned that the box says it will take cards up to 32GB, and asked him if this was not false advertising. The representative became irate and started insulting me, using valgure language, and calling me a liar.

At this point I had enough of his abuse and yelled at him F.U!

What happened next is Truly Absurd and Outrageous!

The man behind the telephone at Aiptek told me he was going to send 5 guys to my house to assult me and my fammily!
THIS IS NO JOKE!
