My ps3 wont read any disc just the bubble icon keeps goin and goin...and called sony cant do anything cuz i bought it off ebay even if it was brand new in the box still sealed and they will charge me 150 to fix it with 90day warrenty but not promises it will be fixed and stay fixed...is there another option.? can i fix it my self?

Disc read error, unreadable disc etc.... Good news is that these

It might just be coincidence that your blu-ray drive has packed up at the same time as the update. Ring up Sony and tell them this and you could get a new console for free if your in the warranty.
you have a disc read error on your ps3. you can either send it to sony and pay 150 if not under warrenty, or you can get a whole new disc drive for about 50-60 bucks on ebay. you can find a video on youtube on how to install it yourself. its pretty simple.
Try using other discs, like movies, blu-rays, or a dvd. If those don't work, there is a problem with your disc drive and it will need to be sent in for repairs.
You need a new laser. I have repaired several of these (about 20) with the same problem, wont read discs. The laser can be purchased for $50 online, try ebay.
