Xerox XD100 (11 years old) went from working perfectly, to suddenly jamming the paper every single time. Top half of paper is nicely copied onto, then heavy black mark across middle, and bottom half of paper blank. Paper is curled onto itself inside the machine. Tried cleaning everything I can find to clean. Also reversed paper. Am using 20# copy paper, as recommended, and did not change paper recently. Thanks for your help.
The fuser is the problem. Most likely the fuser will need to be rebuilt or replaced.
Google a business called The Parts Drop. they have either the parts or the unit.
You may just have to take the fuser out and remove a badly jammed piece of paper in that module.
Shut the machine off for a half an hour. Remove the back cover. You will then see on the left side a black plastic bracket with 3 plugs on it. Disconnect those 3 plugs. Then open the right side door and toward the top is the fuser. It has yellow caution HOT labels on it. There are 2 silver phillips screws holding it in. Remove the screws and then remove the fuser unit and see if there is a paper in there. There are 2 screws that you can remove and the fuser will kind of fold open to inspect for bent fingers or one out of place.
This machine seems to been running pretty good. If you hear a clicking sound at the back their is a gear train assembly deep in the back. The white teeth get worn down so bad they cannot turn the fuser roll. This is not an easy job to do.
A machine this old might have this problem with worn fuser drive gears.
Also on this machinethe bypass feeder has gears and clutches, sometimes they will bind causing constant paper feed jams.
Once the paper is fed from the tray, it enters two plastic baffles that guide the paper upward. Sometimes these baffles will warp causing the paper to drag causing constant misfeeding.
There are many other areas that can cause paper miss feeding, worn out feed rolls is a main reason the paper will mis feed.
Good luck.
