Try removing the battery and plugging the machine in as if you were going to charge it, then try starting it up.
If it doesn't start up, check the connections on the adapter. If everything looks fine then theres a possibility that you have a broken adapter.

Adapter is ok.
When plugged in and no battery and I press the power button, the power led flashes once. Same thing if no adapter and just battery. No sign of life. Dead motherboard?
