Date change I write and store business invoices. Every time I open an old invoice the date changes to the present day. Consequently I lose valuable information relating to the date the original invoice was written. I, and a number of friends cannot find a way to stop this happening. Please help Albert Oulton

If you are using Excel 2007 ...Open Excel ... Click the Office button ... select Open ... highlight the file you wish to open ... then at the bottom of the dialog box click the downarrow next to Open and choose "Open-Read Only".
or
Before opening your old document(s), right-click the file ... select properties ... place a check mark in the box Read-only ... Select OK. Your application should open the file in Read-Only mode and will not be able to make changes or save the file.

I remember learning how to do this through my course so am sure there is a way to turn off the auto update of the date. As I now don't have office 07 and none of the books on it could help me, have researched the poblem on the net for u.
This is what I found, hope it is helpful. As I said don't have office 07 now to try it on but hope it works for u
Good luck.

It sounds like you have created your documents using a template. In many Word templates there is a DATE field that is designed to poll the computer system and apply the current date into that field.
What you need to do is change the DATE field to a CREATEDATE field to preserve the date you actually created the document on.
Just press Alt+F9 to display the field code and change DATE (or TIME) to CREATEDATE, then Alt+F9 to toggle back and then F9 to update

Advance requests can be made as often as preferred through the client. The lenders usually fund on the day that the customer submits an agenda of bills for invoice factoring.

You do not need to change it. The present procedure that a supplier works to invoice the customer still remains in position.

Meaning of duplicate invoice

As per time efficiency you can use duplicate invoice when you want little bit change in another client invoice.
so you can create a duplicate copy of original one (need changes) with some customization .
You can duplicate forms such as estimates, purchase orders, credit memos, and invoices by Duplicate template and if need any guidance during this process follow Intuit Customer Service .

How to change the date of an invoice

If you have already closed the invoices and cannot void them, then you need someone to adjust their date in the database. If you can void them, then change the date of the computer to the date you want on invoice and reenter invoice. This can't be done if it was a credit card sale however. Don't forget to change back the system date.
The first solution involves several tables in database and should only be attempted by someone familiar with SQL and RPE database. I could help.

Hi, I bought the unlimited downloads of My Invoices and Estimates from Avanquest. I am using it for my business and have downloaded it onto two different computers. Now I am wondering if there is any way...

Yes there is a way but it's too time consuming for me to explain it in text. Anyways, I will give it a try. Kindly give me following more information.
1. Do you wan't both the computers to be on internet.
2. What is the format and folder in which your invoices and estimates are saved.
3. Who generates these invoices and estimates. yourself or you download it from somewhere else.

Ms-Access

this discussion could go on for days (month? a semester at least?) but data is any piece of information you want to capture and save. a name. an address. a phone number. (actually they are examples of pieces of data - and whether you capture and save them or not they are still pieces of data). data "forms" a database when you save it (in the dataabase).

the database usually has tables representing related pieces of infomation.

Example:
the CLIENT table may have the following fields:
Client Number
Client Name
Address
Phone
Contact name
etc., etc.

the ACCOUNTS_RECEIVABLE table may have
Client Number
Invoice Number
Invoice Date
Invoice amount
etc., etc.

Notice how the CLIENTS table is "related" to the ACCOUNTS_RECEIVABLE table by the Client Number - hence the term you may have heard RELATIONAL database.

any more in depth please ask.

Posting progress payments

If you are paying your sales tax by invoice date - the payments will not affect your liablity. ie you owe the whole amount of sales tax as of the date of the invoice. If you are paying sales tax as of the time of payment. You will owe sales tax at the time you receive payment.
Since you are using progress invoicing, the sales tax would be come due at the time of the invoice. If you are just receiving payments, you would receive payments (as you would with any customer, and not invoice until time of completion. You would just need to make sure that your preference for sales tax due date is set to Invoice date, not time of payment.
