Our smart security alarm system, the alarm wont go off you can come through the door and not turn it off and it will never beep i cant figure out how to fix it
If your door is protected by a wireless transmitter your problem is most likely a defective switch or a grounded wire from the switch to the transmitter. To determine if the transmitter is working properly pop off the top of transmitter case by using a small blade screwdriver. If you look on the side of the casing you will see a small slot where the screwdriver is placed. Insert the blade of the screwdriver there and twist. The top of the transmitter will release. Inside you will see a small circuit board and battery. If an external switch is used you will also see 2 wires connected to the circuit board which then leads to the swtch. Using a very small screwdriver remove these wires. Now go check system status at your keypad. If the system recognizes the door as open then your problem is a bad switch or pinched wires that are grounding out the switch. If the keypad's status says the door is still closed the problem is in the transmitter. Sometimes these transmitters will be installed using an internal contact/switch.To know if this is the case on your door you will see only the transmitter mounted on or next to the door and a small magnet within a half inch or so on the opposing side. If this is the case your problem again is the internal switch. For replacement of external switches you can try going to a Radio Shack where they offer an assortment. Hope this helps.
