I saw from your previous posts that you seem to know about the LS 1004 Symbol Barcode Scanner. I am hoping you can help me figure out how to use mine. The scanner I have it quite old and probably hasn't been used for a while. From what I know it was supposed to be used with an old IBM ThinkPag. I did not purchase the scanner and just found it recently/ I would like to be able to use it to enter sample numbers into an excel spreadsheet on a Dell computer. Is that possible? I read through the entire manual and am quite confused with what are the Host Type and the Synapse. The scaaner I have is attached to an adapter, whic can hook up to the mouse/keyboard plug. I tried scanning the default barcode but it did not help. I would greatly appreciate your help!

If it will not read any bar codes, then it must be repaired. If it only reads selective bar codes, then perhaps the one you are trying to scan may not be of the type it recognizes.
This scanner will read the following codes: LS 1004/LS 1006: UPC/EAN, Code 39 full ASC11, Code 128, Code 93,
Codabar, Interleaved 2 of 5, Discrete 2 of 5; LS 1000: undecoded
Disconnect the scanner from the mouse port or disconnect the mouse from the scanner. The scanner must be connected to the keyboard port and have a keyboard attached to the scanner.
Hello Fenandez,
there is no driver needed. Just select the programming barcode for the interface (RS232, Synapse,Wand) you want to use on your host device. You would need just the Reference Guide with the barcodes.
The host type are the Interafces which are supported by the scanner directly (no adapter needed). And the Synapse adapter can even an old scanner connect to new interfaces like USB.
As you state you have the adapter for keyboard wedge. You would just need to download the Reference Guide for the "Synapse Smart Cable" at support.symbol.com a configure it acccording to your connection parameters.
What do you mean? you can only scan not more than 3 times? If that so,you need to change the setting of your scanner there was a limit numbers to scan. You can check by using the manual of that scanner.
Hi I'm trying to find keyboard wedge Configuration to re-program my scanner
It's a symbol LS-9100-400BA and connections if you can fax to 1-956-546-8752
I am looking for a device driver (if needed) for the LS 1004-I100
Thanks
