Psp 3000 D pad problem...

Hi! I've been having a little (well big) problem with my PSP 3000, and I'm hoping it can be fixed without sending it in for service.

Ok, well I turned it on one day, it goes to the menu, like normal. But the menu scrolls all the way to the left. To be exact...It goes to Settings > Video Settings. From there, I can't move up or down. If I hit right, it goes one option to the right, then right back to settings. If I hold it, it just keeps going back and forth, making the system unplayable unfortunately.

My hopes are low that I can fix it myself, but I'll give it a chance lol.

Thank you for responding! I should add, the button itself doesn't feel stuck. Its not pushed in, I don't know what's going on, but I know I can't fix it myself lol.

I decided to go ahead and call customer service. I assumed the only way to fix this myself was to open it up and take a look. I got the PSP last Christmas, and its still under warranty. And If I were to open it up, I'm sure I'd void it. I guess I'd rather be safe than sorry, sending it away to get fixed for sure rather than voiding the warranty and it still be broken :(

I just thought I'd update. I hadn't touched my PSP since I said it was still under warranty and called customer service.

I thought I'd try it one more time before I filled out the online assistance site or whatever. And...so weird...its like nothing ever happened. Lucky me, but its just so weird lol.

I think this is something you can fix, the problem is simply a stuck button. If you can open it up and find the area on the board that's under the D-pad, you should be able to unstick the button by wiggling it a little.

Oh, for sure. If your under warranty, it's always the favorable option. I guess the only drawback is having to wait.

If you are willing to void your warranty you can fix it easy. What you are going to have to do is to take apart the PSP by yourself. There are 4 screws on the back. 3 of them are visible, the last one is in the battery compartment under the sticker written on about voiding your warranty. You rip that sticker off and then you unscrew the last screw. The front of the PSP should come right off. From there you can clean, fix, replace and do what you need to do to the PSP. I hope this helps you.

My psp 3000 little big planet edit has a problem my battery is alreay defective after one month in use. how did it happened?

It probably happened because the psp has been in storage for a while. That game isn't new so who knows how long the system was just sitting around in a shelf before you came and picked it up. Hopefully you have a warranty and can get your psp replaced.

Where do i go to send or get my psp screen fixed its cracked

What PSP model do you own? (PSP1000, 2000 or 3000)
Replacing the LCD is easy and cheap if you do it yourself, but if you are not comfortable with doing it, you can send it to any game console repair shop. (You don't have to send it to a Sony authorised center). You can get LCDs on eBay as well.
I hope this answers your question!
