Pen doesn't work when I log on

My Wacom Bamboo Pen isn't working properly when I log on to an account on my Windows Vista.
When I first start the computer it works, but when I choose a user: nothing. I've tried downloading a driver for it off of wacom.com, but that didn't seem to do it either. It worked fine about a week ago. Any ideas?

SOURCE: Wacom Bamboo Fun Pen isnt working correct

I think you dropped the pen on its tip and broke the little ferrite sensing core.  You can try to repair it by gluing the core back together - it worked for me.  For detailed instructions on how to do it, go here: http://wishidknownthat.blogspot.com/2009/04/fixing-wacom-bamboo-pen.html  or you can try to swap the core for the eraser and the tip (more involved - you would need to be very good with a soldering iron to attempt this).  Either way - it's unfortunate that the pen is so fragile and that the user manual doesn't really warn you of this.
Good luck!

SOURCE: Wacom Bamboo Fun Tablet-Mac. Yellow box pops up under pen cursor.

Your tablet is set under the handwriting setting. Go to system preferences and select ink under hardware. Then turn off handwriting recognition.

SOURCE: my digital pen for my pen tablet(bamboo/wacom)

Try hitting the head of your pen into the palm of your hand 5 times and do the same with the eraser. Something about the humidity making the pressure thing in the pen stick idk. I had the same problem and this worked for me.

I am trying to get my CTL-460 Wacom Bamboo Pen Tablet to work on my new computer, a Toshiba Satellite, which uses Windows 8. I have attempted to download the drivers multiple times, including from the

When loading the latest driver for it from Wacoms site, be sure to change the compatibility on the EXE file to "Windows 7". If that doesn't work, you will need to look at purchasing a newer model. The CTL-460 Wacom Bamboo Pen Tablet was only compatible with XP and Windows 7. Newer Microsoft operating systems are not supported on that product from Wacom.

When I'm using Photoshop CS4 with my Wacom Bamboo Fun tablet, the screen tracking for the tablet only works for half the tablet. This happens with everything else as well, not just Photoshop...

Go to Control Panel, and open bamboo properties. There you select the "pen" tab. In the pen tab you will see tracking. Select pen mode and details. You can map the pad there. After mapping pen mode try it in mouse mode as well. Best of luck!

My Wacom Bamboo Pen only works when I have Bamboo Dock open, as soon as it is minimalized, the Pen stops working. Very annoying because i use it for my design work in Illustrator CS5. The Touch-part seems...

Go to the Control Panel, click on the Hardware and Sound link, click on the Bamboo link. Make sure you are on the "Pen" tab. Look on the bottom right for the "Tracking" section. Make sure the "Pen Mode" is selected. Click on the "Details" button, make sure "Portions" is not selected in any of the sections.
If you can't fix it in this section, then your best bet is to re-install.

Bamboo Fun won't work w/ provided software

Hello,

I had the same problem when I got my laptop (Vista OS). The solution is to update the new driver for your bamboo. They are out of date so you need to go here: http://www.wacom.com/downloads/driver-detail.php?id=196 Updated @ Apr. 9, 2009

This update should allow Vista to find it.

I think you need to select the right tool to use with the tablet, I like to use the tablet with the lasso tool. If you want to draw use Adobe Illustrator. If it works as a mouse I think you just need to learn how to use the software you are dealing with.
