Tv have a colors wheel, hearing a humming or buzzing noises or black&white picture flashes with the picture, the colors wheel is dead.Hire a tv tech. to replaced the colors wheel,it pretty hard to replaced the colors wheel, because have to have take out alots of machanical parts, before even can come to the colors wheel itself to replace it.
It's the optical block (color wheel) and the same thing happenned to our Philips 50" DLP. From what I've read, it's not worth the trouble & $$ to fix. Dig a hole!
If you are hearing this noises, that's your Color Wheel. The reason fot that is because your color wheel spins 5000rpms(revolution per minute) and something that modifies the balance if the disc can cause different things.Unfortunately in order to check if your color wheel is working properly you need to open your TV and physically check out.
Grinding= Most probably the color disc is broken and you need to replace it.
Spinning / Buzzing = The bearing of the wheel is loose and is loosing its balance, eventually it will brake.
The best thing to do is to take the color wheel out and spin it ,if you feel that the disc kind of wobbles or doesn't spin smoothly you have to replace it.

Its the color wheel assy. Its changing speed due to worn bearings. You may also hear a hum coming from the rear of the TV. Seek an RCA authorized service center to resolve this.
