I have a ACER ASPIRE 5515 LAPTOP, & the keys H, C, V, B, N are no longer working. When I woke up today, I noticed my boyfriend had left my laptop open on the end table. It had been raining the whole time we were asleep, & unfortunately I must have a leak in my roof, because when I got up I seen the drops of water on the end table and laptop. I wiped it off, & The laptop screen came out of stand by mode,. At that time I didnt think anything else about it. when i returned home tonight and sat down I noticed those keys on the keyboard were no longer functioning.
I've already hooked a usb keyboard up to the usb port and those keys work on it. So besides replacing the laptop keyboard, what else can I try or do?
Re: Laptop Certain Keys Non Responsive on keyboard
If it was just water ...shut it down and blow with cool air from a hair dryer until it will work ...not with hot air cause it has some plastic sheets inside..just let it dry ...and will work ,,if it was something else ..with sugar ..like beer..juice or so...it will need opening and clean well and dry and after that will work ..if it has permanent damages needs a keyboard replacing ... meanwhile if it loosing its functions...just connect a usb based kayboard and use it instead..until replacement ..if the functions will not came after drying ..but if it was just water will get back after it will dry completeli and no longer make false contacts/..

Press your FN key.
If you look at your Keyboard on a laptop you'll see that certain keys have more than 1 symbol on them.
The FN key brings these secondary symbols to life as live keys and pressing it again will restore original function to the keyboard.

Ebay is the best place, or a small computer shop that sells used laptops. On Ebay there are several vendors that sell individual keys, however, you may be able to get a good deal on an entire keyboard, then you will have many keys for future mishaps.
