Any 'night' shot will take longer... and if you have 'Noise Reduction' turned on, it doubles the amount of time it takes to process the picture. Its probably best to leave that setting enabled, also.
This may be a repair issue with the sensor that is located behind the front sliding lens cover. You may want to call Olympus Customer Service to discuss repair policies and procedures. Their telephone number is 800-622-6372 option 2 and then option 3
hi there
look at the big round control button.
on the right (the 3 o'clock position) is the flash selector.
press this while in camera mode untill you see a zig zag lightening bolt with a line through it.
press the middle button to select it .
no more flash.
reverse the proceedure to turn it back on
Not much help here, just to say that my U 795 SW came with a multi-language manual (incl English).
you can try this manual on the Olympus site at it seems to be the closest one to the model we have bought... http://www.olympus.co.uk/consumer/208_manuals.cfm?prodID=P_N2915892
I had this happen and fixed it by removing the battery and leaving it out overnight and making sure it was fully charged - the next day battery inserted and it was ok. Prior to inserting battery I opened shutter cover and help down shutter release to try to drain any residual power. - Worth a try.
