The router is compatible with Win7 according to the Microsoft Compatability Center. The CD is not needed during the install. The smart wizard is pre-installed in the router management software on the unit. Point your browser to http://www.routerlogin.net and login (http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/239/session/L2F2LzEvc2lkLzZ3RVJkKlhq ) gives the default account information. Then click on the Setup Wizard at the top of the left-hand navigation menu.

I hope this helps.

(I suspect the CD is useful if you need the manual but it's autorun files are for an older OS.)

Are you trying to set up router ?
You can set up your router manually, without the CD.
Make sure that your computer is able to go online directly through the modem.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem, that means the modem is working fine.
You will need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

I'm trying to install my HWU300 wireless adapator on a windows 7 machine, but the only drivers I can find go op to windows XP. Is this device compatible with windows 7?

This is an adapter that uses the Zydas zd1201u chipset. There are no drivers for Windows 7 for this adapter that I know of. Zydas was purchased by Atheros, and there is no development on adapters with this chipset for Windows 7.

Formatted acer aspire 5736z with windows 7 ultimate and finished but operating system not loading and takes me to recovery screen tried recovery but still takes me there again and again, tried to boot...

Please take a close look at the disk you are using to install "Windows 7 Ultimate". It is definitely a "Recovery Disk" for Windows 7 Ultimate. You cannot install Windows 7 with a recovery disk. Recovery disk always is used to repair corrupt or damaged files of Windows OS and requires that the Operating System is already installed. You need a "Windows 7 Ultimate" Installation disk to install Windows not a recovery disk for Windows.

I formatted my pc purposely to install windows 7.after this, windows fail to install so i re-install windows xp.after this my wireless fail to work.when i tried it says'no supported wireless adapters...

If your computer originally was shipped with Windows XP pre-installed, and you used the "System Restore" CD/DVD disks that were shipped with the computer to reload Windows XP, the correct device-driver for the wireless-adapter should have been automatically installed.

If you used a different disk to reinstall Windows XP, then you can try two things:

1. Access ACER's web-site, do a search for your model, and see if the web-site offers the device-drivers for Windows XP for your model, or,

2. use an Ethernet cable to connect your computer to the Internet, and access: http://WindowsUpdate.Microsoft.com and do a "Custom" scan. When the scan completes, click the "Optional Hardware Updates" section, to see if Windows Update is offering a device-driver for your wireless adapter. If so, select and install that adapter.
