There are two flat ICs on the main deflection board. they have around a dozen pins or so. the part number is MCZ3001D if you are having problems only at turn on then those are most likely the faulty devices you could take time to figure out which one is bad but just replace both if you had the ambition.

If the red light is blinking in front that sasy lamp. Your lamp needs to be replaced. They cost about $100.00 at your TV Fix It shop. Very easy to replace yourself
Great set, weighs a ton and expensive to fix--all parts are Sony only--in my view replace it with a LCD etc which will be cheaper---most of these that come to our shop that are fixed average over 200 parts and labor.
The primary power supply is good,maybe the horizontal output transistor is deffective thats why there is no high voltage supply in the picture tube because theflyback have no supply voltage and oscilation.So check the harizontal output transistor and replace if deffective.
This is symptom of weak lamp in TV, please replace lamp in TV and I would suggest to buy Sony original lamp for TV safety. Lamp replacement procedure is written in user manual in details, click Sony Support if you want to download user manual copy. Thanks.
go to the Sony website they are repairing some model grand wega for that sympton even after the warranty. Click on the notice to sony owners you will need to enter your model number and serial number to see if the fix applies to your set or not.
