Crystal at the bottom of clock not turning - model # QXM394BR

If the crystal at the bottom of the clock is not turning in the Seiko model # QXM394BR, there are a few potential solutions to try:
  1. Replace the batteries: If the clock is not getting enough power, the crystal may not turn. Replace the batteries with fresh ones to see if this resolves the issue.
  2. Reset the clock: Try resetting the clock by removing the batteries and pressing the reset button, then re-insert the batteries. This can sometimes resolve issues with the clock mechanism.
  3. Check for obstructions: Check to make sure that there are no obstructions preventing the crystal from turning, such as a loose or bent part.
  4. Contact the manufacturer: If none of the above solutions work, contact Seiko customer service for assistance. They may be able to provide additional troubleshooting advice or offer repair services.

Seiko clock battery corrosion.

Use vinegar to clean out the battery compartment. It will neutralize the battery acid. Then take what is left of the springs and pull them out so they make contact with the new batteries. Sounds like you got a hold of some bad batteries.

My Seiko Special Collector's Edition Wall Clock. Time is not working. Everything else does. New batteries installed.

If the clock is more than a few years old, the time movement inside may just be finished. Seiko has a website for service, and or questions. If you don't like what you find out from them, you might try to find a clock shop that will work on, or at least take a look at it for you.

My seiko musical wall clock doesn't play music anymore

To test your Seiko Melodies in Motion Clock:

1) Check the volume knob in the back of the Seiko clock to make sure the volume has not been adjusted all the way down.
2) Make sure the on / off switch is set to on.
3) If it is extremely dark in the room, the clock will not play, it has a light sensor. Make sure the room is well lit.
4) There are separate batteries usually that operate the clock and the music. Change the batteries paying special attention to any acid / corrosion caused by old batteries. Clean out any acid and it should play. Also, be careful not to touch the positive or negative contacts on the new batteries, as this could inhibit proper connection.

If you have done each step above and it is still not operating, your clock is defective. Contact Seiko Service Center directly at: 800-722-4452 extension 3.

If you have had the clock less than a year, and it was purchased from an authorized dealer, it is under warranty, and any repairs will be free. Otherwise, there may be a charge for the repair.
