SOURCE: No remote - toshiba vhs w522

Unfortunately, many models are now without menu buttons. You will probably want to go to the Toshiba website and request a replacement remote, or try to find a remote that will work with all toshiba models.I don't recommend a universal one, only because they can sometimes be junk, if they are intended to control many different kinds of devices. You may want to try a single-device universal remote instead.

I have a Toshiba VCR w522 and would like to record a program previously recorded from a DVR. Is it possible?

If the vcr has two scarts connect the DVR player to one and select that imput. Watch the program using the the other scart connected to the TV. Press record on the vcr and then start the DVR player going. If it doesn't have two scarts use the front panel jacks to connect the DVR player.
The only time you won't be able to record a program is if somekind of anti-copy system is employed.

Problem recording of hd tv with cable box from

Here are a few items to check and how you need to set your recording.

1. Your HD box should have a coax out (or to TV) connection on the back of the box.
2. Connect a coax cable from the back of the HD box to the "RF IN (FROM ANT.)" in the back of the VCR.
3. When you set your VCR to record you need to set it to copy channel 3 and tune the HD box to the channel you want to record.
This should fix your problem...

Good Luck...

Can't get vcr to record

Make sure you are giving the VCR a signal.
If using a RF source (cable or antenna), make sure the VCR's tuner is set up for the right type and channels.
When trying to record put the TV's input to the VCR to make sure it is getting what you want.

Not enough channels

The history of broadcasting is one of adding more and more channels. The older the VCR, the less cable channels it will get.
