Hi,
If your computer is unable to play all other DVD discs then you may need to check your DVD Player. Some times by cleaning DVD Lens problem gets resolved.
DVD Lens Cleaner are available in Market at very very low cost. you can buy and use this one to clean Lens. Usage instructions are generally mentioned on Packging.

Option 2 :
If your computer is unable to play only DVD Movies or other DVD video files then your Download VLC Media Player. This Player is capable to play all kind of videos.

Make a dvd on a computer to play in a dvd
Hi, Somewhere in your windows dvd maker there should be an option for you to "Finalise" the disc, or it should do it automatically.
The other problem you may have is the disc is finalised but your player under the tv does'nt play "dvd+r" some only play + or -.

You can play copy-protected DVDs in a standalone DVD player or in your computer's DVD drive, as long as your computer's software is up to date. Press the "Eject" button on your DVD player to open the DVD tray. Set the DVD into the tray, and push the "Eject" button to close the tray. Press the "Play" button on your DVD player, and the DVD will play. b> On a DVD Drive on a Computer Press the "Eject" button on your DVD drive to eject the DVD tray. Set the DVD into the DVD drive, and push the tray in to close it. Click the "Start" tab on your computer's home screen to open the "Start" menu. Click on "My Computer" to open it. Acer dvd problem
When you burn dvd's to play on DVD players dont burn them as Data dvd they will not play. When you burn the DVD movie try to burn it using a DVD player compatible profile and this depends on the application software you are using to burn the DVD.

Do the DVD play on your computer from DVD or even from the file on hard drive.

If it does not play from the file on hard drive then the file is corrupted on downloading or you dont have a proper dvd palying software like PowerDVD

If it plays from the software but does not play from the DVD on your computer, then it means your DVD burner softaware corrupts file information on burning. Try using a different burning software.

If it plays DVD on your computer but not on the DVD player then your DVD burning profile you selecting is not compatible with your player its possibly burning Data DVD.

check to see what format your computer burns on.[ex:dvd-r, dvd-rw,dvd-+r,dvd-+rw]different dvd players play certain dvd formats.the format for burning on your computer is probably different from the dvd players that aren't playing the disc.you also must finalize the burned disc.

Is it the DVD player/cd burner combo on your computer or simple CD player?
Or
Compatibility: Check if your DVD player on your computer is compatible of playing -r's CD or DVD?.
Check the make and model of your computer and go to the manufacturer's website and find out from there.
Or
You might have to talk to the manufacturer's support.
and if you are sure that the DVD player and its compatible of playing -r's DVDs then first of all check by playing any +r's DVD and see how they respond. If you are certain that it plays - and +rs etc then recheck your recording of DVD's.
Also try installing a good program software like Nero on the computer which will give you options of controlling, burning and playing DVD/CD on your computer.
