Hi Back up your data and then enter this to try a soft format: *#7370# This will soft reset the phone if that dosen't work then try this *#7780# (restore factory settings). If this doesn't work you have one option left: hard format. Press simultaneously Green+3+*+power on. DO NOT RELEASE ANY BUTTON UNTIL "FORMATING" IS DISPALYED!

I will tell you a better way
just make format to your 3230 nokia
this way is better and safe for this mobile model
here are the steps:
1- turn your mobile off
2-press the star button (*) and the number 3 button(3) and the call button and the power button
press them all together at the same time
3-keep pressing for 3 to 6 seconds untill the mobile turn on and the word (formatting) appears on the screen then if the formatting word appears on the screen you can leave the buttons. then wait till it finish
4-your mobile now has a new software as you bought it first time.
notice: this way dont work with all nokia models. this way of format is for 3230 model and some other models only.

first switch off ur mobile then press call key+asterik+3 and switch on ur mobile press these keys untill formatting is displayed

TRY THIS MANUAL FORMAT:

JUST PRESS KEYS *,3 ,call ..While pressing, turn on
the power swicth until formating appears on the screen.
Then just follow for further instructions.. Thank you much!

Do a Full phone formatting following steps below:

1. Make sure you have at least 3/4 charge of battery power left.

2. Backup your contacts list and personal files to MMC memory card.

3. Switch-off your phone.

4. Press and hold 3 keys;

Green dial key,
* Star key,
no. 3 key on keypad

and then press the power on/off to switch on the phone.

Do not let go the 3 'press and hold' keys until you see a the word 'formatting' is displayed on the screen

Boot failure or cannot start-up!

Keep pressing
'Green', ' * ', and ' 3 ' keys and start the phone.
Keep all the buttons pressed till the phone says "Formatting"
The phone formats, starts, and all the data is losts.
But the phone is all OK as before.

*#7370# is to format ur cell az many time as ur want. but if u want to format before powering on the cell then... press three buttons *, 3, call receiving button, then power on the cell. Dont leave the three buttons until formatting displayed in the cell screen. thank you

Personally I use this phone.
You need to format the phone. To do that press *#7370#
Phone will ask for security code, press 12345 (if you've not changed the sucurity code) , then ok
Phone will restart and will take some time to format. After format you'll find your phone speedy.

Don't forget to back up all your phonebook and other necessary files before format.
