well, i was gonna give you a long answer, but this link to ehow. com does a better job, its about changing the timing belt, but it does tell you how to time the engine as well

need to verify that that the timing belt tensioners did not work themselves loose. thus having the timing belt jump timing

you have idle air control valve and purge valve

Is this a V6 or 4cyl???>>>(V6) This requires removing the Harmonic balancer (crankshaft pulley). Remove (R) front wheel, remove engine splash Guard, Remove crank pulley, remove lower timing belt cover. The Crank sensor is located behind the crank shaft pulley!! I highly recommend having this done by a certified tech, requires special tools. Hopefully this helps!!

When you changed the battery the computer must re-learn the setting again. If it continues have a OBD II reader plugged in and check for codes.

Hi there, Best thing to do is buy a Haynes or Clinton's repair shop manual at your local AP store for your particular vehicle. Then read up on it in the trouble shooting section or the step by step RR section. You can purchase these at your local Auto Parts store or buy them on line at ebay burdfrenzy

Take the hole bumper off. Then you will see every thing! its easy after that. Its not that hard just take time.
