I have an older Craftsman GDO setup. 2-3 button remotes,a manual hardwired push button operator and my wifes' car has been successfully liked to operate the opener as well. Up untill just a couple of days ago everything was working fine then suddenly, no remote operation. Manual unit in garage still operates opener but not remotes. When I engage the remote, I can hear a "switch" trip inside of the manual pushbutton housing but no operation. I changed dip switch settings on one of the remotes just to see if it made any difference, it didn't. LiftMaster is the manufacturer of this system and I understand I might be able to get a replacement receiver that is compatable with my current remotes and can be programmed to my vehicle. Any assisstance would be greatly appreciated. RW

I suggest you look for a Chamberlain dealer in the yellow pages and explain what you have. You are looking for a 'universal receiver' that will work with what you have.

Craftsman garage door opener. Why won't it pair with remotes?

If the remotes operate with no problem it's not the board. once you've paired the remote to your home link in the car, you have to go back and hit the learn button on the motor housing unit then go back and hit the home link button you just paired. Keep in mind when you hit the home link button, you should with a firm 3 second push. If that doesn't work it's one of two things. First is all three buttons may have been programmed on the visor not allowing you to reprogram. You would have to wipe out the programming by holding the first and last buttons simultaneously until the light flashes rapidly. Then start over. Secondly it could be the radio frequency. Depending upon the year of the vehicle you have and the opener you have there's a difference in the megahertz. I hope it's as easy as my first suggestion. GL!

Sears Craftsman Gar. door opener won't respond

There isn't a fuse. You are going to need to remove the cover on the opener and find out where you are losing the power. Maybe a neighbor has a volt meter you could use. I would check the power cord and then the logic board. Makes no sense but I would check for burnt or missing traces on the printed circuit board especially around that small transformer.

Craftsman GDO - Remotes not working

I think this is an easier way to program. Press and hold the button on the remote and then press and immediately release the smart/learn button on the rear of the motor unit. Do this for each remote you have.

Only 1 remote will work at a time

One of your remotes has reverted to an earlier technology and they will no longer work with each other. You need to purchase a new remote making sure you get the same model number. Then you will find you can program 2 that will work with each other and 1 that will not. Remove the battery from the bad remote and toss it so that it doesn't cause problems down the road.

Liftmaster gdo won't operate with door or remote

Hi there, when the problem first started was the door being used frequently? If your GDO was used quite a few time's in a short period of time the "overload" may have triped. The makers of all GDO's now adays install an overload witch is an electrical safety device protecting the motor. This prevents over heating in turn burning up the motor. To rectify unplug for 15-20 mins. If you have Model number 1270 turn to pg. 7 in owners manuel. Insure all door locks are free. Insure power to electrical outlets by pluging desk lamp in same out as GDO. what model do you have?

Craftsman Garage door opener not working

First, check the springs in the actual door to make sure that they are not broke. Since you held the learn button down to reset the opener, you have to reprogram all of your remotes. This button only resets the remotes. It has nothing to do with the rest of the opener. To reset the opener, simply unplug it for a couple of minutes and then plug back in. Pull the handle on the door and see if you can operate the door manually with one hand. If it takes more than 15lbs to move the door, there is a problem with the door balance. If the springs are not broke and the door operates smoothly, the likely cause is the rpm sensor on the opener.

2 different openers stopped working by remote at the same time

Both the older genie and a newer chamberlain (3-4 yrs old) both run on 390Mhz frequency. sounds like you will have to change your receivers on both operators (365LM 315Mhz) then get 3 button remote so you can program both doors on one remote.
