How can i add a new address to my nuvi 250w gps? i tried searching the address on the where to options, but it doesn't find it.

You can definitely route using co-ordinates, this search option can found under "Where To?" it may be located a couple of pages down so go through the pages to see "Co-Ordinates" from here you would be able to enter your latitude and longitude.

You have Garmin Lock activated on your nuvi: there are only two ways you can unlock it.

1. Enter the PIN code (but you clearly don't have it or you wouldn't be reading this).

2. Take the unit to the Security Location you chose when activating Garmin Lock: it will then unlock without the PIN code and you can then either reset the PIN or disable Garmin Lock. The Security Location should not be the owner's home address, but many owners ignore this recommendation. Many owners choose their workplace or a close friend or relatives address for this purpose.

If neither option works then your unit is useless unless you send it to Garmin with proof of purchase. Garmin charge for the service and if your maps are not up to date then it's really a waste of money as the investment would be better spent on a new unit with current mapping.

I hope that you manage to either fix your problem using my advice or at least can decide whether to abandon the unit and buy another.

It's unlikely that updating the map will solve the problem. You could try updating the software. Download webupdater from http://www8.garmin.com/support/collection.jsp?product=999-99999-27 and when it's installed you'll get an option to update the satnav software. That may solve the problem. Or you could try to reset the satnav back to how it was when it left the shop by pressing the bottom right corner of the screen as you turn it on. However note that you will lose your saved locations if you do that. I hope this helps.

I have the same problem as you. How you solved it?

To add a space you touch an icon on the screen which is beside the letter M and just above the Done button on the enter name screen.

Icons of vehicles must be in\Garmin\Vehicle\ folder as a *.srt files.
Then go to Settings\Map\Vehicle-Change, depress Up/Down arrows, select vehicle on the left, depress it icon and OK. Now you must see icon on the map on the right. Then go back.

I need to register my Garmin nuvi 250W. It took my email, password, & nickname, BUT that was all... Help me, please.
