Intex saltwater pool red service light is on . I have cleaned and serviced unit per instructions. What next?
If its in warrenty call them they will send you a new one, if its out of warrenty check your circuit board for corrision. to do this UNPLUG the system, take the 4 screws out of the peice with the display on it and pick it up there you will find a circuit board. Mine had a corroded resistor. i went to radio shack found a new one (a two pack for $1.50) soldered it on good to go works great. This seems to be a common problem i have read online.
I went to Radio Shack looking for this resistor and they asked me for the watts and ohms. Can you please help me with those numbers? Thanks
100-0 ohm 1 watt item #2710152. is the resistor broken? I found a way to bypass the circit board if that dont work than you just use a timer
Thanks Gary. I need to get it ASAP since my pool is been without chlorine for a few days now.
Just order the bridge rectifier part # kbpc2501 from eBay or if you are lucky enough to have a electronic store nearby. It cost me around $5 from eBay. Just put it on the same way you took the old one off. I did have to put on two spade connectors because two of them were soldered on. You can get spade connectors for real cheap at any hardware or auto store. Takes minutes to do and a lot cheaper than a new one.
Gerald Lay does this appear to be the common problem with the Intex saltwater systems? I have 2 systems that are doing the same exact thing
Gerald Lay....I cannont thank you enough for this part suggestion. Service light after 1 minute. I rewired to bypass sensors with no luck. Ordered this part from ebay and now we are making chlorine. Thank YOU.
