If a game you want to play is given control over your computer settings it may increase the screen settings and the computer may not be able to handle it and give a blank screen. What does it display on an external display?

If you try to play games that old on a new OS like Vista, it won't go. You would have to try to run the game in compatability mode. Which means when you ry to install the game, right click and propeties and check the tabs out.
I tried playing a game from the 90's too, on my computer with Windows Xp, and it did the same thing. I tried lots of stuff, but then I just didn't have time to mess around with it so I left it.
What I'm trying to say is, that Vista is too ahead for the game software. And vise versa. The game code is too old for Vista. Vista would have to downgrade to play the game and that could bring some problems. The computer prosseser would have to work harder and that could cause the game to lag and even the whole computer to lag. LAAAAAG real bad.
you can play all sorts of computer games that are free online with them or some disk based games can be played with others but you both need to have a disk of same game or eing playing it online games that work like this include club pegin and runescape just a couple for example then just get on same world as them
