Vista OS Driver for Mustek 600 CU Scanner

Hi there, You don't get a Driver for Vista for your scanner but you can use the windows XP one. It will work as well. You can download them at the site below. http://www.mustek.com/mustek/supportdrivers.php

Hi, Mustek doesn't appear to have released a Vista driver for this scanner. If you go to Mustek's A3 EP support page, there is only a Windows 2000 driver, which seems to be the same one for Windows XP. Have you tried using this driver in Vista, to see if it works?

I've just installed a Mustek 1200 CU scanner on Vista.

I used the XP driver from the Mustek website.

You have to temporarily edit the registry to make the installer think you have XP

In regedit, go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Cu rrent Version
Find the "product name" key. Carefully record what it says before you start. (eg paste it into a document somewhere).

Then change it to make it read: Microsoft Windows XP

Then run the Mustek XP installer, and change the registry key back to saying Vista.

The scanner works fine in Photoshop, for example, but the Vista scanning wizard doesn't detect the scanner. Don't think it uses TWAIN?

Run a Google search for your scanner and see if an XP driver is available. Since the original driver was for Win98, I doubt the scanner will work with XP. Just too old.

there is not drivers or software made for Windows XP.
however, you can use the win98 or WinME software. as long as the Windows Xp is running at 32 bits. I have done that with HP flat bed scaner.
don't worry about the non-certified software with MS.

go to mustek usa/canada website and download the drivers for the mustek bearpaw 1200CU Plus scanner for Windows xp. its about 18Mb in 3 large files, run a web search for the mustek scanner, and windows xp and you should get a hit.
