Sadly, there is no substitute. I was just quoted about $1500 for one (from HP), if I were to try to buy it (through a repair shop), and there are basically no parts available anymore for these TVs (everything is pretty much being recycled/refurbished, but availability is quite low).

    I am also having the same problem. I contacted HP direct and they don't make the part anymore. I paid $3000.00 for my tv almost 3 years ago. in Feb. 2009 I had the light engine replaced by hp. Well it went out again about a month ago. HP told me they will recycle my tv and give me $347.00. Unacceptable!! This is not the end of this saga. If anyone would like to get a class action suit against HP for a replacement tv or at least enough $ to buy another tv, post your info here.

I have a 2003 ford cv with a misfire on cylinder 6; THIS IS WHAT I change,new coil 5,6 new fuel injector 5,6 all 8 spark plug! Still the check engine light comes on .
code p 0306 refers to cylinder 6-- misfire detected ====causes --engine mechanical fault--wiring---ignition/fuel system--injector---ECT/MAF sensor---ECM
the mechanical fault can be
problem hydraulic lifter holding a valve partially open
loose valve seat insert
a compression test will determine if there is a mechanical problem as for the rest , check all connections for clean /tight terminals
substitute the ECM with a know good unit to eliminate it
substitute the ECT/MAF sensor with a known good unit
run the fault codes again as engine lights report on a variety of faults as well as the transmission faults

My BMW Z4 coolant light came on. Do I need to use BMW brand coolant or can I substitute another brand?
you can substitute with another coolant, but the manufactors one is recommended for many reasons. Best of all because it has been tested for the heatin BMW engines. Mix it 50/50 with water and I'd reccommend using the bmw coolant to stop overheating and causeing serious damage i.e. gead gasket.

No, this will damage the engine. i do not recommend this substitute. It is best to use the recommended blend.
