Kenmore Dryer-90 Series- Pushed Start button nothing happened

My bought my dryer 9 years ago and I was doing a few loads of laundry and the dryer worked fine. The next day I went to start the dryer and it did not start. I could hear the timer going but that was it. In reading some of the other problems with the Kenmore dryers, it looks like it could be the thermal fuse. Do I need to replace the thermal fuse and the thermostat both? I have a Kenmore Model 110.62912100

Get a meter, unplug the dryer and read out the fuse, pull one of the wires off when you read it out, also when was the last time you cleaned out the dryer?if it's the fuse usually the air isn't moving very well, you need to clean out the duct that the lint filter slides into, vac out the inside of dryer where the motor is and clean out the vent line and make sure the outside vent is clear,if it's a long run from the back of dryer to the outside i use a leaf blower to blow out the vent line, make sure you have 240 coming in at the back of dryer, you could have a blown fuse,if the thermal fuse is good, check the thermostats on the heater box and read out the heater, good luck,if i can help with anything else let me know

Make sure the vent is clear.
Does the motor humm when it starts?
If it humms then the motor is bad. Make sure the rollers are not stuck or that the blower has obstructions inside.

Kenmore 90 series, 7 years old, no problems til now. all of a sudden, 3rd load of laundry of the day, press start button, nothing happens. There's power to the unit as the light goes on when the door...

That doesn't mean there's power to all parts of the dryer though. My Kenmore used to run but not heat & invariably a wire was burned through at the end - they get brittle after a while. I'd unplug the dryer - very important - open the back & look for a wiring problem. I could usually shorten the broken wire & make a good connection again. After years of patching it up we gave up we got a new dryer.

Kenmore Dryer 90 Series will start but suddenly stop...

Hello , Sounds like your motor is over heating , it will run until the sensor shuts it down from getting to hot , it is most likley because the motor is covered in lint and needs cleaned. Hope that helps.

Dryer won't Start

the problem might be the start switch itself. if the switch is going bad it could have either a carbon buildup on the contacs preventing it from starting (unlikely) or the contacs are wearing out and it is more hit or miss if it will start. as time goes on the problem will get wose
