For the dcrtrv320 here's how you do it.ensure you have the power switch set to camera/vtr. press the menu button. will give you little icons on the screen (you should see manual set or vtr set). scroll down to the icon the looks like a tape (tape set). use the sel/push exec dial (it's the dial near the menu button, bottom of the viewfinder and left side of the batt) you scroll it up/down and push it in to confirm your selection.in tape set you have rec mode (press sel/push exec dial in)scroll to sp and press sel/push exec dial again to confirm setting. press menu to exit menu settings. hope this helps.thanks :)

Why does my camera stop recording after one hour? i need to record 90 minutes

Your camera records in two modes: SP and LP modes. SP is a higher quality mode that runs for about 60 minutes, while LP records for 90.
To change to LP mode, open the menu and select [VCR setup]. Select [REC MODE], set it to [LP] and close the menu.
Keep in mind that your video and audio will be of noticeably lower quality with this setting applied.

I need to know how to switch the tape speed from sp to the long play setting without a remote. the universal remote i have wont give me the option. it records only 2 hours on a 6 hour tape instead of 6...

Normally this setting is found on the remote if there is no parallel settings on the panel of the set.
So if youhave lost the remote controller the universal remote must be changed to one which can select the speed settings. Normally the default settings is on the SP mode while the LP mode needs to be selected.
The other option is to identify the trigger of the main processor and use a manual switch to turn on the LP mode. Check for the manual of the set and look for the LP output pin of the processor.
Here the SP mode output also must be taken into consideration so that you can use a manual 4pole two way switch to activate the SP-LP mode.
Otherwise you may need to get the original remote control from the OE maker.

How do i get my JVC remote to get video to run in LP instead of SP when manually recording?

Usually you can change from SP to LP by pressing the record botton again. It works with some brands & models but not all. You will need to specify the JVC model # for exact instructions.

How do you switch tape speeds to LP on a Sony Handy cam TRV 240

You can set tape speed SP or LP in record mode only and can not change it in playback mode.
To set tape speed, turn camcorder in camera mode and go to Menu and set SP or LP in record speed option.

VCR LP/EP compatibility

Vdumitre -

No, not usually. If you've recorded a tape at LP and put it another machine that doesn't have LP, it usually won't play properly. Some machines that have only SP/EP will do this, but they are got scarce as more manufacturers dropped the LP speed. Your best bet is to buy an older one from a thrift shop or a garage sale, making sure that it will play LP. Then, copy your older LP tapes to SP or EP (Run the OUT from the LP unit to the IN on the SP/EP unit, and choose "record from line in", "aux", or "rear input").

Thanks,

Change VCR settings from SP to LP or EP

Hi;
I have a Panasonic VCR with a different, but I know how to 'fix' your problem on my m/c. The remote for my m/c has a "REC MODE" button; operating that button changes from SP to EP etc. Check it with the "Program" button on your TV screen.

Mikomi ET858 digital voice recorder suddenly switched from saving files as .WAV to .ACT, whatever that is. Can play interviews on machine itself, but can't save them to computer. Help! How do I switch it...

Hi all,

I recently bought this little headache of a dictation machine to help me with my Law revision. Had similar problems but have worked out the following:

The machine appears to have 2 modes of recording - LP and SP. When the machine is in LP mode, it appears to be a format for the machine itself to allow for longer record time. Because of this individual format it will not play back on computers. If, however, you change it to SP mode (from what I can ascertain from the VERY unhelpful user manual is 'high quality recording' i.e. standard WAV format) it saves the file in a .wav format which is playable on computers.

To switch it from LP to SP (this is on my dictation machine only - i take absolutely no responsibility for breakages etc):

Turn on
Press 'M' to cycle to 'REC' mode
Use the Volume control to cycle between SP, SP VOR (no idea what VOR is i'm afriad), LP and LP VOR
Record as usual.

I've made test recordings on both SP and SP VOR and both save to WAV format and can be played back through a computer.

If anyone knows what VOR is then please shout back.

Hope this helps.

Setting the tape speed

Power up camera on Camera mode, go to menu, select camera settings, go to Record Mode and select SP or LP there. Now your camera is ready to record as per selection.
You can not change speed SP/LP during playback mode because its properties of signal set during recording.
