I have an old Panasonic NV-HD610 video recorder and trying to convert old tapes to my PC using the ION video 2 PC without any success, there are only 2 audio outlets on the back, one red one white and 2 scarts, I have tried them all but still I get no signal, do I need a video recorder with 3 audio outlets yellow, red and white to achieve this?

The symptom appears to be video head clogging. I would first try to use head cleaning tape. (use new one). Run the cleaning tape for about 10 seconds but not more and see if it resolve the problem. If not, camcorder need a tracking adjustment by a technician. Good Luck. James. For further assistance, go to www.camerarepairjapan.com
Clean the heads(use the specified cleaning tape sparingly). Change tape. Using Panasonic video tape? It sounds like no. You might get by with Sony... Try Panasonic. The tapes are different thickness, durability and therefore suitability for cameras. Try to get ME -type tape( metal evaporated) instead of MP( metal particle) as the particles tend to flake off more readily. The blue often means no signal(video) was recorded in that space(on the tape). Let me know it it helps.
if you are using rca cables let the cam playing something you recorded and try find the channel on vcr(on its tuner).it would be helpfull if you post a picture of your cord
