Trying to find out how you would reset an air conditioning system in a 2005 scion tc, I was told that they would turn themselves off after they get to low fluid. Now I need to reset it so it will turn back on and I"m not able to find anything on it
Hello.... First the bad news... Air Conditioning systems do not have a reset. Now the good news... The system could have shutdown due to low fluid... There is a pressure sensing switch in the line that respond to the "Low Fluid" condition. The reason it does that is so that the compressor does not get damaged and cause all sorts of other problems...
The fix... If it has shutdown due to low fluid the system needs to be serviced and it will start working as good as new... Take it to a repair shop with the proper equipment..
Hope this helps.....
Hello... The tool that you need is a AC recharging machine... Even if the pressure switch is bad, you can't just replace it and the system returns to normal.
The system needs to be discharged, the switch replaced, then needs to be pumped down and refilled. It is probably not the problem. Being low on refrigerant is the problem.
Servicing Air Conditioning is something, that if not done right, it will not work at all. Its best left to professionals that have the proper servicing machines and tools...
Good Luck....
