Nuvi 255 stopped working

Here is just a suggestion , try this and let me know if worked. It needs to be rebooted. Turn off, by holding off button down. Then once it is completely off, then turn it on, BUT when you go to turn it on, keep on button depressed, all the way until it turns on and then some for about 15 seconds, now you just rebooted system. Hi! Please try inserting a paperclip on the reset button. Press hold for atleast 15secs. and this can resolve the problem. Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa!

Go to tools - language and change it to French.

My garmin Nuvi (205 I think) just stopped working...blank screen, does nothing? Was working fine a few hours ago. Car plug in lights up when plugged in but still nothing.

i had same prob about a month ago it sorted it's self out after left on charge for a week

to soft reset & keep data....
Slide power key to on/off, hold it for 8/10 seconds

Update from Garmin, use the web-updater. keep it updated, delete old junk and POIs.

hard reset.
Hold lower corner of screen, while turning on, keep pressing, when "clear all data appears" click yes,
sould resolve the problem

The screen brightness could be turned down or the display itself is defective. Even if it was turned down all the way it should be somewhat visible, so if the display is completely blank, I would suggest that the LCD display has become defective.
