Lcd Olevia circuit board issues

Hi, I was working and this guy was throwing away his syntaxarillian Olevia 437-s11. I thought that i could find the problem because the screen had no cracks. (Worked on Laptop Lcd screen before) So I opened it up examined it for leaks and bumps in capacitors, signs of burns, cracks, shorts, and open grounds. It just doesn't seem to have any problems. One of the problems is I heard the company is out of buss. and also I cant find a schematic for the circuit anywhere. The screen wont turn on but the light signaling that it received power was on but wouldn't turn off (probably something to do with the power saving switch in the back). The owner also mentioned that he had not had the tv for long before it broke down. Can someone please tell me something to look for or maybe end my suffering and tell me to throw it away.

Check for the standard voltages when the unit is on. The values may be marked on the circuit board. Standard voltages would be 5, 12, 24 and sometimes 3.3 volts. Other than that, the brand is pretty bad. Try and find the same set with a broken screen and try and make 1 good set out of 2 bad ones.

Olevia 437-s11 is stuck in stand by mode, I tried the solution provided but I'm unable to find the firmware in the olevia page. do you have any idea where can I get it?

It's not a firmware update, you do have a problem with the main board giving the power supply an ON command. Please have it looked at by a qualified technician.

437-S11 Change Channel and Volume Mutes

Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

I have an Olevia tv model 437-S11 that won't power up.

Hi there
I solved my problem by downloading new software from I can't remember the website (it's been about 5 months) and loading it via USB cable. I can't believe it worked but it did. You should try Google search and look for troubleshooting tips for your tv. Include model and serial numbers. When you download new software make sure you have the correct software version and find and follow directions as to how to get it done. Let me know if it worked for yah...Good luck and a happy new year.
