Mitsubishi tv model wt-42311, error code 2-2. what can i do?

Are you talking about the 2,2 code?

This model may be one that has bad capacitors on the DM board. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com and see they have a kit.

Yes it is worth fixing if that is the only problem with it and the parts can be purchased at radio shack or ordered online from any tv parts site.

If model number is WT-42311 do the self check the set has.

When power light comes on and then goes off, on front of set press both the Menu and Input (device) buttons at the same time and hold for at least 5 seconds and then release both buttons.

Power light will blink a two digit error code like: 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and the repeat the code several times.

caused by faulty power suply

Mits sets give codes for different failures. By holding down the menu and device buttons on the front panel you can get a 2 digit code that will tell you what is wrong with the tv. The digits are seperated by pauses. 2 and 2 is common and points to a convergence failure. That's the simplest repair you can expect. Goodluck to you.

2,2 is short protection---it means one of the two soldered in fuses that protect the convergence circuit is bad.

What it really means is both of the STK-392-110 convergence chips this set uses need to be replaced---one of them got the fuse.

May be a do it yourself job if you know how to solder etc. Total parts cost should be under 30 dollars.
